Copenhagen International Dance Festival 2020

Copenhagen International Dance Festival 2020 – in a Covid-19 setting

Copenhagen International Dance Festival is to bring world class dance to Copenhagen and make it accessible for a broad and diverse audience. The festival invites international choreographers and dance companies to perform extraordinary dance at the unique locations of Copenhagen. The programme of the festival takes on a proactive and social-oriented approach to underrepresented audience groups, creates cross-organisational and artistic collaborations and facilitates workshops for the professional dance arts industry.
The 2020-programme presented 80 performances, an Italian guest company and 2 weeks of Masterclasses with international artists. We had only just started in March with the first performances, when the Covid-19 lock-down put everything on hold. However, CIDF has shown its capability to adapt to the situation and most of al
determination to complete as much as possible as Covid-19-restrictions allow us. This includes:

– On location performances of “En Storby i Bevægelse – Come Dance with Me” and “Hello Europe” went outdoor to perform for the Copenhagen citizens Contemporary Repertoire Classes; an all-year weekly class launched September 2020.
– 3 different choreographies created by: LuciaPasquini, Christopher Arouni, Morten Innstrand & Lotte Sigh.
– 6 artists.
– 14 nationalities presented.
